This month we will start displaying a fascinating piece which was designed and installed by John Marsden.

Originally made for an exhibition of Loughborough Grammar school, this memorial installation was on display at the school in 2018 to mark the anniversary of the end of World War 1. The piece was inspired by the famous poem ‘In Flanders Fields’.

In order to see the poppies open, you will need to get your thinking hats on! Crack the code by using a combination of the supplied World War One map, calculator and daily “base code”. Get it right and you will be rewarded with the poppies coming to life.

Come and have a look at it for yourself.

In order to abide by the social distancing measures put forward by the government in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the museum is sadly CLOSED to the public until further notice. Please stay safe and we hope to see you again soon.
