Reopening Saturday 26th October 2013!

If you’ve got your ear to the ground, you’ll already know that an exciting location move for MAD has been in the pipeline for some time. The MAD (Mechanical Art & Design) Museum is now proud to officially announce that it will be moving from Sheep Street to new premises in Henley Street in Stratford upon Avon in October 2013.

Although we love our quirky location in Sheep Street we could not pass up on the opportunity Henley Street presents as we now have a larger and more accessible location for everyone to enjoy. Get ready for more whacky contraptions as we will be providing a wider, more diverse assortment of mechanical art!

The MAD Museum’s Founder, Richard Simmons said “The success of the museum over the last 18 months has been phenomenal and as a result we felt that we had already outgrown the current location. We are always coming up with new ideas and looking for new pieces to exhibit and now we have a bigger space we aim to cram it full to bursting with the best that kinetic art and automata can offer!”

Since opening The MAD Museum in Sheep Street in March 2012, over 30,000 visitors have passed through its doors. What started as a lifelong ambition and a passionate family business has quickly become one of Warwickshire’s most unusual family friendly attractions. The reviews and feedback received have been overwhelmingly positive.

The new MAD Museum is made up of 3,000sq ft of open plan space above Lakeland in the heart of the most popular street in Stratford upon Avon, Henley Street. Visitors will access the new museum via the staircase or lift.

As well as bringing some old favourites and crowd pleasers with us, the museum will be displaying a whole new range of exciting never seen before exhibits. Plus the new venue will be completely transformed with a brand new MAD look!
