We visited the Allen Gallery in Alton, Hampshire on Tuesday, to see some examples of high quality automata. The exhibition was part of the Cabaret Mechanical Theatre’s touring exhibition. Many of the works featured are by English creator Paul Spooner, and there are also pieces by artists such as Keith Newstead, Carlos Zapata and Kazu Harada. Well worth a trip, check out more details at the Cabaret Mechanical Theatre website. The exhibition runs until December 24th and the opening times are 10am to 4.30pm.
